GRAPHIC DESIGN MANAGER
Meet our Graphic Design Manager, and lover of all things creative Andrea, who is the artistic hand behind Dermalogica NZ's artwork and design. Her love for arts and crafts as a young child developed into a life long passion for design, that she now gets to do every day in her role #livingthedream. In her spare time this self confessed NZ Pinot Noir and chocolate enthusiast can be found running around the bays or at the park with her two young kiddies.
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your role?
I’m a creative person but at the same time particularly detail orientated, which is an interesting mix! This helps with my role to ensure brand guidelines are met, design projects are on brief and we are hitting deadlines. This can be an occupational hazard as I’m constantly proofing every communication piece that comes passed my desk and my inbox… even when I’m out at dinner I can’t help but proof the menu!
Three words that your friends would use to describe you?
Organised, loyal, resilient.
What do you love most about the Dermalogica brand?
Dermalogica is a skin care range that makes my skin feel healthy and fresh, I love it for that!

"My role is constantly evolving as we grow, which is the best thing you could ask for."
Talk us through a day in your life.
I’m a working mum, so there is a fair bit of juggling before I start my work day. Once I’m in the office I always start the day with prioritising the day ahead and a black coffee, my role is varied between creating artwork, working with print suppliers, ensuring artwork is on shelf for promotions and product launches, merchandising our retail locations and having fun at the same time.
What’s the best thing about your role?
I love continued improvement, my role is constantly evolving as we grow, which is the best thing you could ask for.
And the biggest challenge?
Keeping up with the ever-changing landscape of digital and print media, there is so much amazing content available to us for continued improvement but the challenge is finding the time to read and absorb it.
What might people be surprised to know about what you do?
My role is quite labour intensive but necessary to ensure Dermalogica is on brand… I check every single lightbox and piece of artwork we have printed, which are hundreds and hundreds of pieces a year.
How do you relax at the end of the day?
A good Netflix series.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t sweat the small stuff!
"Always clean your make up off at night, your skin will thank you for this later in life."
Focus on what you can control, let go of things you can't control.
Your biggest skincare concern?
Ageing around my eyes.
One Dermalogica product you couldn’t live without?
Skin Smoothing Cream
Favourite skincare trick?
Adding a couple of drops of Phyto Replenish Oil gives my skin a healthy dewy look, love it!
One thing you have learnt since working for dermalogica.
